We're a neighbourhood cafe in Brunswick, opened in 2022 by Rosie Chen — a barista who'd spent years pulling shots in Melbourne.

Our story

A room named after a dog.

Rosie opened Rosie & Bean in 2022, after years of working behind the bar in cafes in Melbourne. The second half of the name is Bean's — Rosie's small dog.

We roast our own beans in small batches, twice a week, on a little machine in the shop.

Most of the people who come in are locals. We know a lot of them by name, and a lot more by their order. If you're new, that's alright too. There's no rush.

What we believe

Three small things.

Coffee should be unhurried. So should the morning.
Come in often enough and we'll know your name — and your order.
Small batches, roasted here, twice a week. That's the whole plan.
